First of all, make sure you are winding down properly at the end of the day in order to sleep well when it comes to going to bed. Put aside time when you get in to unwind and relax. Finish what you need to do at work before you leave if possible then leave home time for only doing leisure activities which you enjoy.
So you might spend some time when you get in playing computer games, watching television, enjoying some bingo UK games or doing something else non-work related and which takes your mind off the day. For an evening meal, cook something satisfying but avoid spicy food or anything overly heavy that could cause you stomach problems in the night. Try and eat at least a couple of hours before you go to bed so that the food is not sitting on your stomach all night and making you feel uncomfortable, disrupting your sleep.
After tea, try and do relaxing activities to completely calm your body and mind. This could be reading a couple of chapters of a book, listening to relaxing music, having a warm bath or all of the above.
Avoid alcohol in the evenings as, although it may make you feel drowsy and appear to help you sleep, it won’t allow you to have the deep and refreshing sleep your body needs. Instead, opt for a hot milky drink before bed time to sooth you and help you sleep more deeply.
